The printed Parent Communication Playbook on a teacher's desk beside a laptop showing the editable script file

Sound familiar?

Nobody trained you for the parent, only for the child.

None of that is a character flaw. It is a missing script. Experienced teachers are not braver than you — they simply stopped writing every hard message from scratch.

A sample, straight from the file

“My child says you target them.”

Hi [PARENT NAME], Thank you for telling me directly rather than sitting with it. I would want to know too. I take it seriously, so I want to give you what I actually have. On [DATE] at [TIME], during [ACTIVITY], I [EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID AND SAID]. [OTHER ADULT, IF PRESENT] was in the room. I do not doubt that [CHILD FIRST NAME] felt singled out, and that matters to me separately from what happened. Could we talk [OPTION 1] or [OPTION 2] so I can hear the rest of it? [YOUR NAME]

Notice what it does: no apology for something you did not do, no argument, a dated factual record, a named witness, and a door held open. Forty-two more like it.

What is inside

Four modules. Nothing theoretical.

01

Setting ironclad boundaries

  • The Welcome Letter that stops weekend texts before they ever start
  • Office-hours policy wording that reads warm, not defensive
  • The Week-2 positive note that buys you goodwill all year
  • The reach-out for the family you have never heard from
02

The Difficult Conversation Swipe File

Email and phone, word for word

  • Raising a suspected learning or attention need without diagnosing
  • Hitting, biting and physical aggression — the same-day call
  • The chronic non-completer, without the nagging spiral
  • Daily-photo-update requests, redirected kindly
  • “My child says you yelled at them” — the non-defensive reply
  • Grade disputes on non-negotiable assessments
03

Conferences Without Panic

Fifteen minutes, timed to the minute

  • The time-stamped 15-minute conference agenda
  • Data + Observation + Joint Action Plan, adapted for primary
  • De-escalation lines for the parent who raises their voice — or cries
  • The Exit Strategy: how to end a conference that turns abusive
04

Documentation & CYA

Cover your assets

  • The Simple Communication Log — spreadsheet and printable
  • Turning a heated phone call into an undeniable email recap
  • Admin-involvement triggers: exactly when to stop going it alone
  • The handoff email that brings in your VP without escalating

This is for you if

  • You are in your first three years of teaching primary
  • You would rather sound kind than be walked over — and want both
  • You want a paper trail before you need one
  • You want your evenings back

This is not for you if

  • You want scripts that put parents in their place
  • You are looking for legal representation or union advice
  • You want a philosophy of family engagement rather than sentences you can send today

Meet the teacher behind the playbook

Hi, I’m Andrea.

After 20 years in primary classrooms, I loved my students — but I felt the weight of ever-growing demands. So I retired from the classroom to start a new adventure: creating digital resources that actually solve the problems teachers face every day.

I’ve been in your shoes. I know what it’s like to dread parent emails, spend hours on lesson plans, and sacrifice your evenings and weekends. That’s why every product I create is designed to give you back your time, confidence, and peace of mind.

From communication scripts to classroom systems, my resources are built by a teacher, for teachers. Let’s make your teaching life easier — together.

Questions teachers ask first

I teach preschool / 5th grade. Will this work?

It is written for PreK through 4th, but every script is about adult behavior, not curriculum. K-5 teachers use it unchanged. Middle school teachers swap a few nouns.

Can I actually edit the templates?

Yes. The swipe file is a Word document that opens in Word, Pages or Google Docs. Make a copy, fill in the brackets, save your favorites as email signatures or canned responses.

Is this going to sound robotic to parents?

The opposite. Every script is warm on the surface with a firm boundary underneath — that is the whole design. You are meant to swap in real details about a real child.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is documentation practice from twenty years in classrooms: factual, dated, behavior-focused language that holds up when your principal reads it. Follow your district policy first.

What do I get, exactly?

A 48-page PDF guide and a 43-script editable template file. Instant download, yours forever, including future updates.
